Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Nagomi collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Nagomi mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, display name, date of birth, and region.
- Chat messages: messages you send to AI companions, stored to maintain conversation history and personalize responses.
- Photos: images you voluntarily upload to share with companions, stored securely in cloud storage.
- Device token: Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications (only if you grant permission).
- IP address: processed when you sign in, used to protect your account – rate limiting and detecting sign-ins from a new location. We do not use it to track you across the web.
- Purchase information: in-app purchase identifiers for deduplication and subscription verification. We do not store payment details.
- Usage data: message counts, interaction scores, and app settings such as notification preferences and sleep schedule.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the App experience, including AI companion responses tailored to your profile.
- To send push notifications from companions (only if you have enabled them).
- To protect your account and the App against abuse, including rate limiting, detecting suspicious sign-in attempts, and alerting you to logins from a new location.
- To process in-app purchases and manage subscription entitlements.
- To improve the App and fix technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Services
- Together AI: your chat messages are sent to Together AI, a United States–based provider, to generate companion responses using a large language model. Together AI Privacy Policy
- Groq: photos you upload are sent to Groq, a United States–based provider, for automated content and safety analysis (such as detecting explicit images). Groq Privacy Policy
- Firebase (Google): used for authentication and push notifications. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: used to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare R2: used to store companion and user photos securely.
- Hetzner: European cloud infrastructure provider hosting our application server and PostgreSQL database (account and conversation data).
- IP-API (ip-api.com): used to determine the approximate country of a sign-in from your IP address, so we can alert you to logins from a new location. Only your IP address is sent, and only at the moment you sign in. IP-API Legal & Privacy
International data transfers. The AI providers above (Together AI and Groq) are located in the United States. When you chat with a companion or upload a photo, the relevant message or image is transferred to and processed on servers in the United States. Your account information and conversation history are stored within the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). We share only the specific content needed to provide these features, and we never sell your personal data. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your personal data and conversation history.
5. Data Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account immediately.
7. Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and all associated data via the App's Settings screen.
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via Settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
